The short version: Pingless does all of its work on your device. It collects nothing, transmits nothing, and shares nothing. The app is built with no internet permission, so it physically cannot send your data anywhere, not to us, not to anyone.

Who we are

Pingless is made by made. by ac, a design and development studio. You can reach us at thebrain@made-by-ac.com. This policy explains how the Pingless Android app handles information.

What we collect

Nothing leaves your device, and we receive nothing. We have no servers that store your data, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.

What stays on your device

To sort your notifications, Pingless reads them on your phone as they arrive. This happens entirely on-device. Specifically:

Notification content (such as the title and text) is read in memory to classify and organise it. A copy is kept only in the app's private, encrypted storage so your inbox survives a restart, and is automatically deleted after 7 days.
Learned preferences are stored as anonymous counts and categories (for example, "you usually open delivery updates"), never the words of your notifications.
All of the above lives only on your phone. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Permissions, and why

Notification access

The core of the app, so Pingless can read your notifications on your device and decide what matters. Without it, the app cannot function. Content is processed locally and never transmitted.

Show notifications

So Pingless can post its own once-a-day "here's what you missed" summary.

Ignore battery optimisation (optional)

So your phone doesn't pause Pingless in the background and cause it to miss notifications. You choose whether to grant this.

Query installed apps

So the app can show you the list of your apps to choose which ones Pingless manages. This list is used only on your device and is never sent anywhere.

Pingless does not request internet, location, contacts, camera, microphone, or storage permissions.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any information, because there is none to share. No data ever leaves your device.

Security

Because nothing is transmitted or stored off-device, there is no cloud database to breach. On your phone, data is held in the app's private storage, which Android encrypts at rest, and the recent-notification history auto-clears after 7 days.

Children

Pingless is not directed at children under 13. In any case, the app collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised date. Material changes will be reflected in the app's release notes.
